Neil, our CEO, was born in Taiwan and adopted at two weeks old by a U.S. Navy couple during the Vietnam War. At 26, he found his birth parents with the help of friends, newspapers, radio, TV, and movie stars. The surreal experience uniting his Pacific Rim family fuels his world view. You see, Neil isn’t supposed to be alive. He shouldn’t be here. He believes he’s been given a second chance at life. Squandering it is not an option. People with this mindset find mediocrity unacceptable. They never settle. Neil lives with a boundless spirit, applying it to marketing for NextBound clients who want to push limits and be great.
Jenna, our CCO, was raised within a rich cultural mix from Mexico, Honduras, Argentina, Italy, and Spain. Her passion, creativity, and talent stem from the fun, playful vibrance commonly associated with those countries’ arts. She is not dull. She is not boring. Her brand and design work do not lazily follow copycat norms. Her talent is bold and refreshing. She helps clients stand out in crowded competitive landscapes. She transforms companies’ brand images so profoundly that clients regularly say her work is the best they’ve ever seen.

In addition to the special drive and innovation resulting from their cultural backgrounds, Neil and Jenna share a unique bond that translates to your success – their passion for the sportsworld.
Neil grew up wanting to be a professional athlete. When he realized he would not be 7 feet tall or run a 4.3-second 40, he did the next best thing to get in on the action – he became a sportswriter. He covered everything from the NBA and NFL to college sports and AAU. He crossed paths with Hall-of-Fame players and coaches. Neil saw inspirational patterns while interacting with them. The will to win. An insatiable appetite to get better. No excuses. No quitting. Accountability. Pro or amateur, athletes love the never-ending process of self-improvement.
Jenna grew up as an athlete. She swam competitively. She played competitive softball, playing the two hot corners at first and third base so masterfully. She kickboxes and rows before work, waking up with the attitude that there are no off days. Her family has ties to the NFL and roots in professional soccer – Argentina’s national team and Mexico’s major-league circuit.
Neil and Jenna see the applicability of sports to the business world. During their careers, they see who truly wants to grow and succeed, who’s accountable, who goes the extra mile, who helps others during tough times. Not all of them played sports. But they all have the athlete’s mindset. They are “corporate athletes.” They grind, collaborate, problem-solve, no matter the conditions. They build up teammates instead of tear them down. No whining, no excuses, no politics. All energy is spent overcoming challenges and succeeding as a team. They compete to win. It’s an attitude.
